Sorry for not publishing an update in September but we were hoping to publish some good news. However, it has surprised us both just how many problems that can crop up when trying to start a new business. The latest to befall us reared it's head after we did a full stock take of the companies assets.
We have found that we are missing vital moulds which are required for making all the metal components for all the kits as well as around half the moulds for the canopies. As you can imagine this will severely restrict our progress forward when producing new stock and re-launching the kits. One vital part common to all the Spitfire kits is in very short supply and we have concluded that, unless the moulds can be located, we will only be able to produce a further 60 kits.
We have received interest in the Mk.XIX Spitfire kit from the UK and would like to re-launch this sooner rather than latter, but this won't be possible as we have no stock of the metal propellers.
We are hoping that this problem can be resolved as soon as possible so that we can get as many of the popular Spitfire kits back onto the market.
As for the online shop, it has been slow progress with a few issues still requiring our attention. It doesn't look like we will be launching the site now until after Christmas. However, we plan to sell some of the kits we do have available on Trade Me starting from the beginning of next month. Search for JAYS Model Kits to see what we have for sale.
